GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and liraglutide (Saxenda) can be effective tools for weight management. What they cannot do is replace adequate nutrition. And yet nutritional support alongside these medications is almost never offered as standard.

Without appropriate guidance, GLP-1 medications can lead to significant muscle loss, nutrient deficiencies, digestive complications, and difficulty maintaining results once the medication is reduced or stopped. This package exists to ensure that does not happen to you.

There is no judgement here around your choices or your route to weight management. The focus is on helping you feel well, function optimally, and achieve results you can sustain.

Who this package is for

This package is designed for women at any stage of their GLP-1 journey - whether you are newly prescribed, currently taking the medication, managing side effects, or preparing to reduce or stop. It is also relevant if you are using a GLP-1 medication alongside perimenopause or menopause management, where the risks of muscle loss and hormonal disruption are particularly significant.

What the package addresses

The most clinically important priorities when taking a GLP-1 medication are protecting muscle mass through adequate protein intake distributed across the day, preventing micronutrient deficiencies that develop when food intake is significantly reduced, managing gastrointestinal side effects including nausea, constipation, reflux, and early satiety, building sustainable eating habits while appetite is suppressed so that results are maintainable long term, and planning the transition off medication without rapid weight regain.

Your plan addresses all of these, structured around your current medication stage, appetite, tolerances, and health history.

What is included

Your package runs over three or six months and begins with a detailed initial consultation reviewing your current intake, symptoms, lifestyle, medication stage, and goals. From this I build a personalised nutrition plan tailored to your appetite and tolerances, including practical protein strategies for low appetite days, meal structuring guidance, micronutrient support, and clear protocols for managing gastrointestinal symptoms.

Muscle preservation is a central focus throughout - including protein distribution, resistance training guidance where relevant, and recovery and energy considerations. If you are preparing to come off your medication, you receive a structured transition plan to normalise intake gradually, manage rebound hunger, and reinforce the dietary habits that will maintain your results.

We meet fortnightly throughout the programme and you have ongoing support between sessions through the Practice Better portal. Where relevant, I can support communication with your GP or prescribing clinician.
