About Daisy Tappenden
I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Level 3 Personal Trainer based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I specialise in women's hormonal health, with a particular focus on perimenopause and menopause. I work with women who are done with feeling like a diminished version of themselves and want a properly supported, evidence-based approach to understanding what is happening in their body and addressing it at the root.
I hold a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy with distinction from the College of Naturopathic Medicine, and am a registered member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I am fully insured and maintain ongoing continuing professional development to ensure my clinical practice reflects current nutritional science.
My background
My interest in health did not begin academically. Since childhood I had experienced eczema, which at times was debilitating. By my teens I was dealing with elevated stress, anxiety, mood changes, and persistent gut issues. The medical response was consistent - steroid creams and the oral contraceptive pill - but the symptoms kept returning. Nobody ever asked why.
By my early twenties I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began with exercise, qualifying as a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2012. After a period running a luxury chalet company in the French Alps, I moved to London where I worked in the wellness travel industry - an environment that deepened my interest in nutrition and its relationship to how people feel.
By 2018 I was ready to study formally. I trained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating with distinction in Nutritional Therapy. What drew me most was the practice's core principle: that symptoms are not the problem, they are the signal. Finding the root cause is where meaningful change begins.
Why I specialise in women's hormonal health
Hormones became my specialism for both personal and clinical reasons. The connection between hormonal health and the symptoms I had experienced throughout my own life - the skin, the anxiety, the gut - became increasingly clear as my clinical understanding deepened. The realisation that so many women are managing symptoms that have identifiable, addressable causes, without ever being given that information, is what drives the work I do.
Perimenopause and menopause became a particular focus because it is where I see the greatest gap between what women are experiencing and the support they are being offered. The hormonal transition of midlife affects metabolism, cognition, mood, sleep, gut health, bone density, and body composition simultaneously. It is a systemic shift and it deserves a systemic response - not a single prescription, and not the instruction to simply get on with it.
I have been in clinical practice since 2022, working with women across the UK online and in person in Tunbridge Wells. The conditions and symptoms I work with most frequently include perimenopause and menopause, PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, PMS, post-pill hormonal disruption, irregular or painful periods, unexplained fatigue, digestive dysfunction, weight management, acne, and anxiety with a hormonal root.
My approach
I take a root-cause approach to every client I work with. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, I look at the whole picture - your hormones, gut health, stress response, nutrient status, sleep, and movement - to understand what is driving how you feel and build a plan that addresses it directly.
Every recommendation I make is grounded in current nutritional science and tailored to you as an individual. I do not use templates. I do not offer generic advice. The plan you receive reflects your specific history, your symptoms, your lifestyle, and your goals.
I work collaboratively with GPs and other healthcare providers where relevant, and always refer on where a client's needs fall outside my scope of practice. Nutritional therapy works alongside conventional medicine, not in opposition to it.
